Privacy Policy
Pulse Journal is designed as a private, local-first personal journaling and self-tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app stores, how optional integrations work, and what responsibilities remain with the user when exporting or sharing data.
Pulse Journal stores the information you choose to enter into the app, including session details, notes, preferences, settings, and other structured data used to provide history, statistics, trends, insights, and personalized app behavior. This information is used so the app can function as intended and reflect your own logged history back to you in a readable and organized way.
Pulse Journal is built around on-device storage. Your primary data is stored locally on your device using Apple system technologies unless you explicitly choose to export it. The app does not require a cloud account to use its core features, and it is designed to prioritize local control over sensitive personal information.
If you choose to enable Apple Health or other supported system integrations, Pulse Journal may read from or write to those integrations only after you explicitly enable the relevant features and grant permission through Apple’s privacy controls. These permissions are optional and can be reviewed, changed, or revoked through Apple’s Health app and device settings. Depending on the features you enable, this may include optional access to sleep analysis, heart rate, mindfulness, mental health-related entries, or other supported wellness data.
Pulse Journal does not control Apple’s systems, Apple Health, or other device-level services. Once data is shared with those systems under your permission settings, Apple’s own privacy terms and platform rules may also apply.
If you export your data, export files are created only when you request them. Once an export file exists outside the app, you are responsible for how it is stored, backed up, transferred, shared, secured, or deleted. Exported files may contain highly sensitive personal information, so they should be handled with care.
If you contact support, submit feedback, or send a legal or privacy-related question, you may voluntarily provide contact information such as your name or email address so a response can be sent. Do not include sensitive information in support requests unless it is truly necessary.
Pulse Journal may update this Privacy Policy over time as the app evolves. If material changes are made, they should be reflected in future versions of the app and related release information.
Legal Disclaimer
Pulse Journal is provided as a personal journaling, self-tracking, and reflection tool. It is intended to help users log their own information, review patterns, and better understand the data they personally choose to record. Pulse Journal is not a legal service, law office, financial service, clinical platform, or regulated advisory product.
Nothing in the app, including statistics, trends, streaks, charts, plain-English reviews, comparisons, summaries, reminders, or insight surfaces, should be interpreted as legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or any other form of licensed professional guidance. The app presents descriptive information based on the data available to it, but it does not guarantee completeness, accuracy, or suitability for any specific purpose.
Use of the app is at your own discretion and risk. Any conclusions, actions, or decisions you make based on app content or your own logged data are your responsibility. If you need legal, financial, medical, mental health, or other professional support, you should consult a qualified professional.
Pulse Journal may change over time. Features, layouts, calculations, thresholds, labels, visualizations, export formats, and workflow details may be updated, refined, removed, or expanded in future versions. The existence of a feature in one build or release does not guarantee that it will remain unchanged later.
Health Disclaimer
Pulse Journal is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or emergency support. Health-related features are included for personal information, self-reflection, and optional wellness context only.
If you enable Apple Health integrations or use health-related sections of the app, Pulse Journal may display information connected to sleep, heart rate, mindfulness, mental health-related logging, or other supported wellness data. These features are informational and descriptive only. They are not intended to diagnose any condition, recommend treatment, or replace licensed medical or mental health care.
Patterns shown in the app, including trend comparisons, streaks, correlations, summaries, or records, do not establish causation. A chart, insight, or readable summary does not mean that one factor medically caused another. Logged data may also be incomplete, estimated, user-entered, missing, or affected by permission settings, device availability, or limited sample history.
If you have concerns about sleep quality, erections, sexual health, supplements such as melatonin, mood, stress, heart rate, physical symptoms, or mental health, you should speak with a licensed healthcare professional. If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency or mental health crisis, do not rely on Pulse Journal. Contact emergency services, a physician, a licensed clinician, or an appropriate crisis resource immediately.
Data Usage & Storage
Pulse Journal is designed around a local-first storage model. This means the app stores your information on your device so it can render History, Dashboard summaries, Statistics, preferences, and related features without requiring a separate account system.
Certain diagnostics, preference settings, counts, and app-state values may also be stored locally so the app can support reminders, display settings, import/export trust signals, or other product behavior. These local values exist to support the user experience and app functionality.
If Apple Health features are enabled, those integrations depend on both platform availability and user permission. A feature being present in the interface does not guarantee that every device can read or write the related data.
Imports & Exports
Pulse Journal allows users to import and export certain data in portable formats. Imported data is only brought into the app when you intentionally choose to do so. Exported data is only created when you intentionally request it.
Because exported files may contain highly personal information, you should store them carefully and avoid sharing them unless you fully understand the implications. Once an exported file leaves the app, Pulse Journal cannot control how it is used, copied, backed up, synced, or forwarded.
Security & Privacy Features
Pulse Journal may offer privacy and security features such as app lock, Face ID, Touch ID, passcode fallback, privacy shielding, and related safeguards. These features are intended to reduce casual or unintended visibility of your information on the device.
However, no software-based protection can guarantee absolute security. These features are not a replacement for overall device security, operating system protections, strong device passcodes, safe backup practices, or careful handling of exported files.
For any privacy or legal questions, it is best if users do not include any sensitive personal details unless it becomes absolutely necessary (which it probably never will).
Children's Privacy
Pulse Journal is intended for personal use by individuals who can understand the nature of the information being logged and reviewed. The app is not designed specifically for children, and it should not be used to collect personal information from children without appropriate parental or legal supervision where required.
International Users
Users may access information about Pulse Journal from different regions. Date, time, and localization preferences may vary by device or by user setting, but the app’s core privacy model remains: centered on local device storage unless the user explicitly exports data or enables optional system integrations.

This Privacy Policy, Legal Disclaimer, and Health Disclaimer may be updated from time to time as Pulse Journal changes. Updated versions should be posted on the website and reflected in future app releases where appropriate.
